Karabiner Access has been working with national Icon - the Sydney Opera House on a significant upgrade of their height safety equipment. The KA team installed the world class EVOLUTION height safety system allowing uncompromised, safe access to the façade of all the sails above the concert hall, opera theatre and restaurant.
Not for the feint hearted! KA Rope Access technician Scott Laverty has a birds eye view undertaking maintenance 23 levels up. One of the North Sydney’s newest office towers, Innovation Place has been designed to maximise light and views of Neutral Bay and Sydney Harbour from it’s fantastic Arthur Street location. The new generation building is environmentally sensitive featuring reduced greenhouse gas technology, water recycling, low H2O demand amenities and ‘chilled beam’ air conditioning technology.

KA has achieved IRATA accreditation and will be providing rope access and height safety training services from next month. Course Coordinator – Liam Francomb is an internationally experienced trainer whose background includes rig and general access work in the UK and Europe as well as a training and development role in Asia. Utilising the IRATA training methodology, course graduates will be qualified for work anywhere in the world in a variety of industries including – construction, mining, oil + gas rigs etc.. IRATA is recognised as the leading provider of height access and safety training.
We also offer refresher training and tailored group programs for corporates who have in-house maintenance activities or on request.
The KA Rope Access training is conducted at a purpose built venue situated in Mascot, Sydney over 4 days with assessment, registration and certification on day 5. Courses include IRATA I, II, III, annual reassessment and refresher training.

KA is excited at the prospect of working with Queensland based building and construction suppliers – Hutchinson, providing rope access, height safety and fall arrest systems for two projects in Brisbane at developments on Queen Street and Turbot Street and for the “Central” project in Flinders Street, Townsville.
The extended Karabiner Family grew by two recently with the arrivals of Rhys Ferguson and Ella Murdoch, new bubs for MD Andrew and partner Mia and Senior Technician Tim Murdoch and partner Kathryn.
