This policy explains how Karabiner ("we", "us", "our") handles the personal information we collect through our website at karabiner.com.au and in the course of providing height safety, rope access and building maintenance services. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
We only collect what we need to respond to you and deliver our services:
We only send marketing or newsletter emails to people who have expressly opted in by ticking the consent box on one of our forms. That box is never pre-ticked. Every marketing email includes an easy way to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to stop at any time by contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not affect our handling of an active enquiry or job.
We keep tracking to a minimum. Our website uses a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool to understand aggregate traffic (for example, how many people viewed a page). It does not use cookies to track you across sites and does not build an advertising profile of you. We do not run third-party advertising or social media tracking pixels. Any cookies set are strictly necessary for the site to function. Because we do not set non-essential tracking cookies, we do not show a cookie consent banner; if that changes we will update this policy and seek consent where required.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site and respond to you:
These providers may process data outside Australia. We only use reputable providers that maintain appropriate security and confidentiality safeguards.
Enquiry and lead records are stored in an access-controlled database with row-level security, reachable only with privileged server credentials. We retain enquiry records only as long as we need them for the purpose collected or to meet our legal obligations, then delete or de-identify them.
You can ask us to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it where we are not required to keep it. To make a request, or if you have a privacy concern, please contact us. If we cannot resolve your concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
