88 Walker Street is the tallest building in North Sydney, rising 50 storeys with premium commercial space, a luxury hotel and serviced apartments in a single tower. Its height and mixed use make access planning central to how the building runs.
The challenge
A 50-storey tower with a mix of uses has to be maintainable across its entire façade from the day it opens. Access had to reach every external and internal surface, including glazing, from ground level to the uppermost floors, and suit the building's architecture and day-to-day operation.
What we delivered
Karabiner delivered the full design, engineering and installation of customised façade access and height safety systems for the tower. Integrated rope access systems and building maintenance units give crews safe, efficient access to all façade surfaces for inspection, cleaning and replacement of external and internal elements, including glazing. Each solution was tailored to the tower's architectural and operational requirements.
