The Lands Building is a heritage-listed, 12-level commercial building in Sydney's CBD. Its refurbishment upgrades the interiors, building services and accessibility while protecting the historic fabric that gives the building its standing in the city.
The challenge
Heritage buildings put real limits on where you can fix things and how. Access systems had to be engineered to respect the protected exterior, sit sympathetically with the historic fabric, and still give crews safe, practical access across all 12 levels for both light and heavy maintenance.
What we delivered
Karabiner designed, supplied and installed customised façade access and height safety systems chosen for a heritage setting, including anchor points, static lines and walkways. Every fixing and layout was worked through with the building's heritage significance in mind, so the exterior can be maintained carefully from ground level to roof. This is close, considered height safety installation work, backed by certification and audit to keep it compliant.
